Christmas 2013

This was a terrific Christmas! During the first week of December, Sig and I left Canada for a few days and re-entered (as instructed) to become Canadian Permanent Residents!!! Our 3.5 year wait is finally done, and we can now truly settle in to our life here in Canada and start making plans for what comes next!

Kayden is an everlasting source of joy – and not because he's "the perfect cat"; actually, we love that he is not perfect. Well... he is PURRRfect in his own way. When he gets a strong frisky streak, he can be a troublesome bundle of teeth and claws, and we love him for it. After all, he is cooped up inside with us most of the time (except for his daily walks on the leash, which are scarce in this yucky BC winter weather). Probably 80% of the time he is a loving, cuddly teddybear, and other times he can be the devil himself.
AND... it occurred to me just recently that, of course, he was born under the star sign Gemini (just as Sig was), which might help determine his "extreme this" or "extreme that" tendencies. Go figure. ;)

Anyway, this past Christmas was so nice – mom and Bill came up to spend a few days with us, and we all enjoyed good food, conversations, movies and downtown outings! An old re-run of "Pirates of Penzance" with Kevin Cline! 75 Christmas trees in the Empress Hotel! Turkey feating and more! :)
