About a year ago, Kayden got a terrible urinary tract infection, and for a couple days we were afraid that we might lose him. It was so unnerving, sitting up with him in the middle of the night, with him laying on our laps as we cradled him on the kitchen floor, watching him wobble to his litter box over and over, trying to pee, having no success... then doing as our vet advised and force-extract urine from his bladder. It was so painful to watch. The drugs that our wonderful veterinarian prescribed make him so groggy. But... he pulled through! He was so brave! And I think that whole episode strengthened our bonds even more. He's really our child. We may have lost all of our vacation savings that year, but it was well worth it!
